Mentoring serves a vital role in graduate education and in the preparation of the next generation of intellectual leaders. However, many mentors receive
little formal preparation or training for this responsibility. This guide, in combination with a one-hour training, seeks to fill this gap as well as satisfy NSF mentoring requirements for graduate and postdoctoral students.

Graduate student/postdoctoral individual development plan requirements are described in the (PAPPG). The can also be a valuable resource.
